Invoice Maker subscriptions are billed through whichever store processed the original purchase, which means cancellation is handled by that same store. There's no cancel button inside the Invoice Maker app or the web dashboard, because Apple, Google, and the web checkout each maintain their own billing records and renewal schedules.
The process takes about a minute once the correct store has been identified. The sections below cover each of the three places a subscription can be purchased.
Step 1: Identify where the subscription was purchased
- iPhone or iPad app: billed by Apple. Use the Apple steps below.
- Android app: billed by Google Play. Use the Google Play steps below.
- invoicemaker.com in a web browser: billed through Invoice Maker web checkout. Use the web steps below.
If you aren't sure, search your email for the receipt from the original purchase. The sender (Apple, Google Play, or Invoice Maker) indicates where it was billed.
Cancel on iPhone or iPad (Apple)
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap your name at the top of the screen.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap Invoice Maker.
- Tap Cancel Subscription, then confirm.
Cancel on Android (Google Play)
- Open the Google Play Store app.
- Tap your profile icon in the top right corner.
- Tap Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
- Select Invoice Maker.
- Tap Cancel subscription and follow the prompts to confirm.
Cancel a subscription purchased on invoicemaker.com
- Find the purchase confirmation or receipt email sent when you subscribed.
- Click the link in that email to manage your subscription.
- Select Cancel subscription and confirm.
If the receipt email can't be located, submit a support request from the email address on your account and our team will cancel the subscription for you.
What happens after cancelling
- Paid features stay available until the end of the current billing period. You won't be charged again.
- When the period ends, the account moves to the Free plan. Invoices, estimates, clients, and items are kept.
- To confirm the change, sign in at invoicemaker.com and go to Settings > Subscription. After the period ends, it reads "You're on the Free plan."
Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription
An account with an active subscription can't be deleted. Cancel the subscription with the store first using the steps above. Once it has been cancelled, the account can be removed from Settings > Account > Delete account. Deleting an account permanently removes all invoices, estimates, clients, items, projects, and settings, and it can't be undone.
Summary
Cancellation is handled by the store that processed the payment: Apple for iPhone and iPad, Google Play for Android, and the emailed management link for web purchases. Access continues through the end of the paid period, and the account then moves to the Free plan with its data intact. Account deletion is a separate step that only becomes available after the subscription has been cancelled.
